Introduction

NFS Lite is a modification to the condor job manager in the OSG Compute Element installation to reduce the NFS load on the Compute element from running user jobs and their standard io.

Recommendations and Requirements

It is recommended that you be running OSG 0.6.0 or greater.

NFS Lite currently requires condor as the batch manager. The reason for this requirement is that Condor 6.7.18 and newer has the capability to handle x509 user proxies internally. This feature is required to eliminate the need for the x509 user proxy to be available to the worker node over a shared file system like NFS.
