UCSD T2 LVS Setup

Hardware Requirements

  • Two LVS servers. While 1 is all that is necessary having two means that you can perform automatic failover in the event of a LVS server failure
  • Two or more Gridftp servers connected to 10Gbps or faster networking
    • These system should have around 64GB or RAM and a reasonably fast processor, the more cores the more in flight connections you can handle

Operating System and Software

Either RHEL6 or RHEL7 will do, but we are running on RHEL7. This allows us to be much more up to date, but does place some new challenges as far as the newer features of RHEL7. We are currently running the latest RHEL7 updates as of this writing CentOS? Linux release 7.3.1611
