These instructions are from an email by Haifeng (hpi) on September 4th 2009.

1. first use any interactive machine to install a glite UI. Just use to
tarball, uncompress them

The tarball are http://yuan.ucsd.edu/CMS/glite-UI-3.1.14-0-
external.tar.gz and http://yuan.ucsd.edu/CMS/glite-UI-3.1.14-0.tar.gz

cd <glite UI dir>
wget http://yuan.ucsd.edu/CMS/glite-UI-3.1.14-0-external.tar.gz
wget http://yuan.ucsd.edu/CMS/glite-UI-3.1.14-0.tar.gz
tar zxf glite-UI-3.1.14-0-external.tar.gz
tar zxf glite-UI-3.1.14-0.tar.gz

2. configure the file site-info.def in the <glite UI dir>

you can see an example for UCSD at http://yuan.ucsd.edu/CMS/site-

3. run the installation command

./glite/yaim/bin/yaim -c -s site-info.def -n UI_TAR

4. after the installation, the glite environment can be set up by

source <glite UI dir>/etc/profile.d/grid-env.sh

Note: before initiating glite environment, please make sure no OSG
environment is there, otherwise, things will get messed up.

try to run voms-proxy-init to verify it works

5. the last step is to copy the whole glite UI directory to the mounted
disk which is shared by all the machines ... I need to manually modify
the <glite UI dir>/etc/profile.d/grid-env.sh, since the path of glite UI
directory in the disk server might be different from the 1st deployment
at local machine.
